Bill Irvin

Pam and I started dating my last semester of HHS (Pam Brown -- a junior) and were married right before my last semester at UVa. We’ve lived in the same house since 1982 in the Bexley subdivision in Chesterfield County.

After graduating from UVa (accounting), I got a law degree from UR and started working in taxes, wills and trusts at Hirschler Fleischer in downtown Richmond. I attended William and Mary School of Law and earned an LL.M. in Taxation. After making partner, I left to establish my own small firm, then joined Durrette, Irvin and Lemons, where I was Board Chair for 17 years. In 2002 I again started my own firm, then bought a building blocks from Courthouse Road and Midlothian Turnpike. My practice is concentrated in estate planning, wills and trusts, estate and trust administration, commercial real estate, and small businesses. Though I have clients as far away as Tokyo, Rome and California, most are in the central Virginia area.

I spend hundreds of hours a year working with volunteer boards of non-profits, especially Ministering to Ministers Foundation, an agency providing counseling and legal support for ministers experiencing conflict in (or involuntary termination from) churches. My favorite activities include spending time with my children and their families; traveling with Pam to DC for fine dining and performances at the Kennedy Center; visiting Charlottesville for UVa football, basketball, baseball, tennis, soccer and lacrosse; and relaxing in Asheville, NC with Pam. Dad passed away in 2002, but Mom still lives independently in Brandermill.
