Sharing health requests

The Reunion Committee wholeheartedly endorsed the idea of starting a special page where classmates can share special needs, requests for thoughts and prayers, etc., normally related to health issues but not restricted. We do request that postings be limited to your or your immediate family's issues; although we respect that many "prayer warriors" like to circulate requests as widely as possible for the benefit of a person in the Sunday school class of their previous neighbor's third cousin (twice removed), we ask that Facebook remain your first choice for such posts. The only rules are civility and positivity; we are creating this page to "share the love."

I had a learned professor in seminary (I know - you, a lawyer, went to seminary? Didn't take, did it?) tell the class that a very sick colleague in the People's Republic of China asked for his prayers, and he (the professor) asked "Shall I pray to my God for you, or to your God, that is, if you have a God?" and the Chinese colleague replied "I would consider it the greatest act of love if you would pray to your God, and I'm certain if there are many, or only One with numerous pipelines for different faiths, the prayer will get through to where it needs to go." He (my professor) also said that God loves skeptics and questioners as much or even more than those who are sure of all the religious answers. So all I'm saying is, this page is wide open to those of many beliefs, or no beliefs.

It's hard to open up about health issues, but our intent is to create a forum where everyone listens respectfully and with love.

Anyone want to make the first post?

P.S. -- Okay, until I figure out how to actually let people post to this page, for now please exit and click on "User Forums" which should allow posts.
