Tom Park

Joining the USMC in 1968 was a terrific decision. I got to live in Hawaii, Japan, Okinawa and oh yeah that little country that had the police action going on. In 1972 I got out of the Corps and went to VCU graduating in 1975. Went to work for the Federal Government and retired as the Deputy CFO of the Department of Transportation in 2005. Well retirement only lasted 6 weeks and I was called back to serve as the CFO of the Federal Highway Administration. I retired from that position in 2008 and am now working with SRA International as the Director of Government Financial Systems and Services.

Laurie and I were talking with her daughter and her new husband shortly after they joined the working world and the comment they made really hit home...."this adult stuff sucks". It make me think about Saturday night dates, Proms, dances, movies, pizza at Julians and Anna's, the sock hops, football and basketball games. And you know they are right....
