I remember that in 10th grade English class, Patti spilled an entire bottle of Toujours Moi perfume. It created quite an uproar. Toujours Moi was not a quiet perfume under the best of circumstances.
Patti was one of my best friends and she was such a wild woman and happy and daring and exciting...but later you find out underneath all that was a lot of fear and insecurity...that I guess we all have a little of. I'll never forget that relationship and the good times we had together. Patti taught me a lot. I loved her very much. carey
Patti was the first girl I met in Richmond, since we lived across the street. She gave me lessons on how to be Southern, and was a great friend for several years. She even introduced me to Byron and we shared many double dates. And we'd ride in her dad's yellow Corvette Stingray! When I saw her as an adult, it was always bittersweet for me, to see her troubles and remember what a strong girl she was in my young eyes.
When I started at Huguenot in my junior year Patti was one of my first friends and the wildest girl I thought I had ever met! I loved her genuine straight approach and her sense of humor and fun. She was so brave and daring and I am so sorry she suffered inside, as I learned later.
