Lynn Gwatkin Steedman

My husband, Johnny Steedman and I celebrated our 31st anniversary on April 1st, 2009 (April Fool's Day!) We moved from Atlanta to Dallas, TX to Birmingham, AL to Dallas, TX to Atlanta before ending up in Athens (Johnny's hometown). He bought his grandfather's business and we have been here since 1987...I stayed home with the girls until 2001 and then got a job at the University of Georgia in the Men's Tennis Office. I was "thrown in the briarpatch" with this job. I still play tennis and enjoy being involved with this great program (Back to Back National Champions in 2007 and 2008) We moved my mother from Florida to Athens 2 years ago and loved having her here...she had a fall on February 11 and passed away, unexpectedly on February 18. It is still fresh and we miss her terribly. My brother Jay Gwatkin lives in Greensboro, NC, my sister Carlotta lives in Baltimore, MD and my brother Charles lives in Nags Head, NC.

I guess I am still remembered as "The Falcon Spirit" ...the bird! I'm still involved in school athletics and I am still cheering for my teams! I guess I have no shame...my girls are horrified that I dressed up in that costume...I have to admit, I still like to dress up in costumes!
