I graduated from the University of Richmond, and served as the Director of Cultural Enrichment for Southampton County Public Schools. In 1975, I co-founded Theatre IV, a nonprofit professional theatre headquartered in Richmond. Over the years Theatre IV grew. In 2001, I became artistic director of Barksdale Theatre also. Theatre IV and Barksdale merged in 2012 to form Virginia Repertory Theatre, where I worked as artistic director until 2016. Virginia Rep performs in Richmond in the historic November Theatre (formerly the Empire), which we purchased in 1986 and renovated in 1990. The November is located in downtown Richmond, and is the oldest major theatre in the state. We also perform seasons at Hanover Tavern and the Children's Theatre at Willow Lawn. Virginia Rep also tours extensively throughout Virginia and 32 neighboring states. I flunked out of retirement and currently work as the Executive Director of the Baxter Perkinson Center for the Arts and Education in Chester. I've been blessed with good health, an interesting and successful career, and a wonderful family.

I knew Robert well in high school, and had the great joy of dating his younger sister Lynn my senior year.  Robert was a fine guy.  In his recent picture, he looks remarkably like his late dad, Lenny, another fine guy.  I'll miss Robert, and I'm sorry he's among the many who've left us too soon.     --Bruce Miller

Happy Birthday, Art. As is so often the case, I'm a day late and a dollar short. Nonetheless, thinking about you perked me up a bit today. I'm glad you and yours are doing well. Have a GREAT 71st year. By this time next year, God willing and the crik don't rise, C-19 will be a shadow from the past.

We couldn't have asked for a nicer, friendlier, more down-to-earth guy than Wylie Crawford.  He wasn't really part of one group or another; he was everyone's pal.  I'll miss you, buddy.  I'm forever grateful to have had you as a friend.

Happy birthday, Bruce! Look forward to seeing you and Terrie at reunion and catching up. I still remember the green dress I wore on our date to the Homecoming Dance (now if it wasn't a green dress and not HC my mind is not the steel trap I think it is!!). Wow, I couldn't believe you asked me to go with you!! Hard to believe that was 50+ years ago.
