Philip E. Hastings, Jr., age 62, of Garland, Texas, passed away on February 3, 2013.
Phil was born in Richmond, VA on August 18, 1950 to Philip E. Hastings, Sr. and Jean Hastings.
In 1968, Phil joined the Air Force where he served as a Staff Sergeant in the Vietnam War. He received several commendations, including two Distinguished Flying Cross medals awarded for heroism and extraordinary achievement while participating in an aerial flight.
In 1982, Phil moved to Texas where he quickly fell in love with his soul mate, Kay. Shortly after, they were married on July 16, 1982 in Weatherford, TX and spent their honeymoon and anniversaries at the Angels Nest in Weatherford.
Phil is survived by his spouse, Kay Hastings; daughter, Erin Biksen; son, Philip Hastings III and his wife Kathy; daughter, Heather Aufdenkamp and her husband Erik; stepson, Michael Greene and his wife Lisa; stepson, Brandon Greene and his fiancé Nicolle; sister, Jeanie Elliott and her husband Joe; brother, Wade Hastings and his wife Laura; brother, Keith Hastings; brother, Kenny Hastings; several nieces and nephews; and 11 grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to a charity of your choice in Phil’s memory.
