STAMEY, Mrs. Brenda M., of Galax, Va., passed away December 7, 2010. She was the beloved wife of Ronald C. Stamey of Galax, Va.; cherished mother of Sarah (Shawn) Kouri of Miami; and dear sister of Beverley (Bill) Holcomb of Conway, S.C. Brenda was the owner and proprietor of the Doctor's Inn, Galax, Va. She was active in the Galax Chamber of Commerce. Brenda brought joy to everyone whose lives she so profoundly touched. May she rest in peace. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 12350 S.W. 132nd Court, Suite 104, Miami, Fla. 33186, (305)383-7116, www.komenmiaftl.org. A celebration of Brenda's life will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2010 in Miami, Fla. under the direction of Blasberg-Rubin-Zilbert, (305)865-2353.

Brenda and I had great times together. Our husbands got along which made it nice and we loved to go to dances in the 70's-90's. We always went to the beach together and got in all kinds of trouble! I don't know what I will do with out her but she always brought me joy. I'm sure she's making a great angel! I will miss her terribly.

She taught me to dance .
She was always into something .
As they say in carpentry . She never let the bubble stop for long .
She & Mary & Carol made my wife feel so very comfortable at our 40th reunion .
For that I will always be grateful .
My condolences go out to her family .She was a good person & I was proud to call her a friend .

I had no idea Brenda had died. I'm so grateful I got to see Brenda at our last reunion. I wish I had gotten to talk more in-depth with her...as I just had my second breast cancer surgery since December. Brenda was larger than life in a petite body! She will be missed!!

Brenda was in most all of my classes at Bon Air Elementary. She seemed to like picking on me, but I figured that was because she thought I was cute (ha ha). I didn't see her much at Huguenot, and have not seen her in at least 42 years, but I always remembered her. Rest in peace, Brenda.
