According to an article in the June 19, 1966 Richmond News Leader, Dickie was killed while riding on the back of a motorbike when it collided with a car at Buford Road and Rockaway Drive at 10:20 p.m. on June 18. He was survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick F. Dietsch, three sisters and maternal grandparents. He was buried in Grand Rapids, Michigan. //Bill Irvin
